The Texas commission on environmental quality (tceq) has issued
an ozone action day for the Dallas-Fort Worth area for Thursday,
July 30, 2015.
Atmospheric conditions are expected to be favorable for producing
high levels of ozone air pollution in the Dallas-Fort Worth area
on Thursday. You can help prevent ozone pollution by sharing a
ride, walking, riding a bicycle, taking your lunch to work,
avoiding drive-through lanes, conserving energy, and keeping your
vehicle properly tuned.

... Waco reaches 100 degrees for the first time this year...
At 513 PM today... Waco reached 100 degrees. This is the first
time this year that the official Waco site has reached 100
The last time that Waco reached 100 degrees was August 26th 2014.
Waco first 100 degree-day last year was on July 28th and for the
year there were 13 days with highs of 100 degrees or higher.
Waco averages 24 100-degree days a year. There have been as many as
90 100-degree days /back in 2011/ and there have been two years when
the official Waco site did not reach 100-degrees: 1919 and 1920. The
greatest number of consecutive 100-degree days is 44 which occurred
from June 30th through August 12th 2011.
The average first 100-degree day at Waco is July 4th. The official
Waco site has reached 100 degrees as early as March 28th
/back in 1971/. The latest first occurrence of 100 degrees in a
year is October 3rd /in 1979/. It has reached 100 degrees as late as
October 4th /in 1983/. The average last 100-degree date is August
